Arlie Pittman worked at Intermountain Indian School from 1963 until 1984 when the school closed. He worked first with Student Enterprise and was involved with the canteen where students worked -- to learn job skills and earn spending money. It provided a place for them to gather to socialize and to buy food and soft drinks. Other such enterprises were a bowling alley, pinball machines and pool tables. Pittman later taught science at the school, focusing on earth science, electricity and astronomy.
