Description
Charles Earl was drafted into the Army right after high school in 1966 during the Vietnam War. He was in the 7th and 13th Artillery supporting Infantry in jungle combat areas. His unit worked from various landing zones and drop-off points. Years after his military discharge, he was diagnosed with amyloidosis which destroyed both his kidneys. The disease was presumed caused by Agent Orange which was used to clear out foliage before helicopter landings. Between his military service and kidney diagnosis, Charles Earl was in the Brigham City Police Department for 20 years, 10 of those years as Chief of Police.
