Description
Willie Hunsaker persuaded his parents to sign a permission form allowing him to join the military service at age 17. He was assigned to the Navy Seabees (Construction Battalion). Among the construction projects he participated in was building the B 29 air base at Saipan and Tinian. He was injured when a truck he was driving exploded. He was hospitalized 6 months and then returned to active duty.
