Description
Margaret Call's father Vanez Wilson was the first manager of the Bear River Migratory Bird Refuge in Box Elder County. He moved his family to Brigham City where they bought a house. After 6 years, the government built homes at the Refuge, Wilson, his wife Margaret Budge Wilson and their five children occupied one of them. During the school year, the children boarded with families in Brigham City and attended school there. During World War II, Margaret worked part-time for the Refuge and part-time for the Research Department there. Discussion includes research on botulism and other bird diseases, duck hunting and fishing, and tourism. She also told of a tragic incident when her 7-year old brother fell into the river and drowned.
